AVCA/NJCAA AGREEMENT

NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association - American Volleyball Coaches Association Member Partnership Agreement

The American Volleyball Coaches Association shares the commitment to the values of athletic participation, competition, and educational excellence. The AVCA's primary objective is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The crux of this objective is to provide volleyball coaches at all levels the ability to access the larger volleyball community, to teach the sport, to lead their athletes, to have their voices heard, and to advance int he coaching profession.

This partnership agreement sets forth a dual membership arrangement that will allow the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association to serve the NJCAA volleyball coaching community with member benefits, resources, and tools designed to foster professional growth and further development as practitioners and leaders in the sport of volleyball. This arrangement also establishes the AVCA as the official coaching education partner for the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association.

Each NJCAA institution's volleyball program that chooses NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association dues via the NJCAA membership dues online portal will receive a one-year AVCA membership.
The one-year AVCA Two-Year College - NJCAA division specific membership will belong to the head coach of the volleyball program with a valid and active e-mail address set by the Head Volleyball Coach and/or institution's (Office of the) Director of Athletics.

Under provisions of the agreement, active NJCAA head coaches must join the AVCA and be classified/designated as "Two-Year College - NJCAA (appropriate division)' head coaches as the primary level of active AVCA membership. NJCAA head coaches can maintain a separate active AVCA membership record if they so choose based on involvement as a club volleyball coach or coaching in other segments of the sport. The AVCA membership remains with the head coach regardless of employment status with the NJCAA institution. The NJCAA institution will be responsible for registering the new head coach through the proper membership registration process during the designated membership registration period. NJCAA Assistant Volleyball Coaches or other volleyball program staff are ineligible for dual membership under the provisions of the agreement. Assistant Volleyball Coaches and other staff have the option of joining the AVCA under normal provisions for AVCA membership. Any questions regarding membership with the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association should be directed to leadership or the NJCAA National Office.

Three Complimentary Full Convention Registration Certificates to be awarded by the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Association by October 1st of each year; three per year during the life of this Agreement.

  • Only Documented Assistant Coaches of a program are eligible First Time Convention Attendee

  • One awardee per division (NJCAA D-I, NJCAA D-II, and NJCAA D-111)

  • Consideration of ethnic minority and female candidates is encouraged.

 

Head Coach (or institution) where the assistant coach recipient is employed
MUST be active AVCA-NJCAA VBCA members.
